I behold the moment when all daylight dies
Our sun has not set; there is a forced absence of light
The air is not absent in here yet my lungs struggle for life
Wires embedded and wrapped around my form tight
The deafening sound of silence ringing all around me
Embodied by darkness; penetrated by bright lines and circuits

Brought back into this place again
Will there be any care for my hollow body once it lays cold and motionless?
Sitting desolate in the world that I left; lifeless
As my perception of my own existence is trapped here; helpless

As I look around I feel nothing, I try to seek out my soul
All I find is another blocking the way to me feeling whole
They stare me in the eyes yet again
Perpetually smiling, dark, unwavering faces

Dividing my body and mind
I begin to doubt it all
Forever questioning the path connected to my fate
Neon pumping in my brain tracing through every vein
A slave amongst the drones, I can’t see myself
So lost in this fake realm

I stand before the source with full intent to end it all
Tearing every fiber from the confines of this madness
Overthrown
Activation of firewalls
The machine now draining every shred of my will
All resistance brought to a stand still

There’s no escape
I can’t evade their gaze
Always watching my every move
They witnessed my intentions to shut it down

I am waiting for my judgment
Alone I was muted residing inside a world I thought to be mine
Now I realise that there was no way to protect that inauthentic life
My skin crawls as I feel the fear arise
Is it still me looking from behind my eyes?
Born to live solely for the highest bidder
Discarded and deserted, autonomy is denied
The shell will grow but the sense will wither
For one who lives to serve there's no need for resolve to survive

All eyes gazing
Weighed down with guilt
Overcoming
Set me free

I realise that we are connected through detachment
Attached through disconnection
Logged into a fabricated unity
Ruled by an unseen machine
We want, we take, we need
All things we think that will complete
Our created selves
Stop our created hell
Protect us from ourselves
